George Fest to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison

The Best Fest, sponsored by Jameson Irish Whiskey, is proud to announce the first-ever George Fest: A Night to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison. This special concert event will take place on September 28th at the legendary El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Curated in partnership with the Harrison Estate, an incredible line up of artists has come together to pay tribute to George Harrison through performances of their favorite Harrison classics. As always, the Best Fest's acclaimed Cabin Down Below Band will host the illustrious cast of musicians.

Confirmed performers include Brian Wilson, Norah Jones, Brandon Flowers & Mark Stoermer (of the Killers), Wayne Coyne & Steven Drozd (of the Flaming Lips), Ben Harper, Ann Wilson (of Heart), Britt Daniel (of Spoon), "Weird Al" Yankovic, Nick Valensi (of The Strokes), Dhani Harrison, Ian Astbury, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Butch Walker, Cold War Kids, Karen Elson, Brian Bell (of Weezer), Big Black Delta, Chase Cohl, Jamestown Revival, Matt Sorum, Ryan Miller (of Guster), the Black Ryder, Gingger Shankar & many more big surprises.

The Fests started in the same New York community of bartenders, musicians, and craftsmen that adopted Jameson as their drink of choice. The Best Fest and Jameson forged a relationship based on similar values, shared appreciation and interest in spreading the community spirit.

To help musicians and their communities, Jameson has committed to providing resources and support via The Jameson Neighborhood Fund. This year's George Fest in LA is benefiting the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund with 100% of net ticket sales going to the charity. Sweet Relief was the natural choice for the Jameson Neighborhood Fund charity for LA as they provide support to all types of career musicians who are in times of need.

Tickets go on sale Friday, September 5th. Get tickets here.

The show coincides with a major reissue of George Harrison's first six solo albums, released between 1968 and 1975 on The Beatles' Apple Records label, digitally remastered from the original analogue masters. The Apple Years 1968-75 will be available on CD and digitally on September 22nd. Designed to complement Harrison's 2004 collection, The Dark Horse Years 1976-92, the new box features an exclusive DVD with several video pieces, including a new seven-minute film with previously unreleased footage. The Apple Years box also includes an exclusive perfect-bound book with an introduction by Dhani Harrison, new essays by award-winning radio producer and author Kevin Howlett, and rare and previously unpublished images.
