Blues guitar legend B.B. King has been hospitalized with dehydration, his representative has confirmed. The cause is Type II diabetes. King was diagnosed with the disease more than two decades ago.
His daughter Claudette reports that the 89-year-old King “is much better.” We’ll keep you posted on updates.
King was forced to cancel eight shows last October due to dehydration and exhaustion following a performance at Chicago’s House of Blues.
The guitarist has spent more than 65 years on the road, often performing more than 300 shows a year. Health problems have forced him to cut back the number of performances in recent years.
