Users can plug either model directly into their guitar (via its built-in 1/4" plug), and enjoy professional-quality guitar or bass tones anywhere, anytime. Additionally, an AUX input jack allows the user to jam along with any MP3 player.

The amPlug Lead is based on a U.S.-made, high-gain boutique amp that has been further modified specifically for lead guitar. It also contains a digital delay effect for added richness. The amPlug Bass is modeled on VOX's classic AC100 bass amp, and it has been further expanded with a full-range tone that supports today's bass sounds. A compressor/boost effect provides compression as well as a thick overdrive sound. Additionally, a high-quality FET buffer circuit has been employed to obtain even greater dynamic range.

Using proprietary analog modeling technology, the amPlug range accurately reproduces the complex and warm distortion that is distinctive of a vacuum tube, as well as the powerful high gain produced by a large amp stack, despite ultra-compact dimensions (3.39" x 3.15" x 1.22") and weight (1.41oz., not including batteries). These models offer up to 20 hours of battery life from two AAA batteries. Visually, amPlug looks like a miniature VOX amplifier, complete with a simulation of the classic VOX diamond grille cloth.

The VOX amPlug Lead and amPlug Bass join three other existing amPlug models that include the amPlug AC30, for signature VOX AC30 top boost tone; amPlug Classic Rock, which delivers the sound of a "classic" British 100-Watt head; and amPlug Metal, which is based on a U.S. made high-gain amplifier head that delivers metal high-gain tone.

The VOX amPlug amplifiers are now available with an MSRP of $49.99
