The Like's Charlotte Froom

“Playing bass by yourself is boring,” says the Like’s Charlotte Froom, reflecting back on her first experiences with the instrument. “I’d suggest finding someone to play with.” That’s exactly what she did: When the Los Angeles trio formed in 2001, Froom had been playing bass for all of two weeks. Five years later, the group is sharing a tour bill with the Kings Of Leon, and Froom has mastered a fluid lead-bass style all her own, an evolution she attributes primarily to grooving with her bandmates. “It wasn’t until we got together as a band and started figuring out parts that my playing really started to develop.”
