The Jazz Foundation Of America’s A Great Night In Harlem Benefit Concert

WHO: Hosted by Bill Cosby, Chevy Chase and Danny Glover, the event will feature appearances and performances by notable personalities including Norah Jones, Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child), Hank Jones, Cecil Bridgewater, Nnenna Freelon, Leon Hendrix (brother of Jimi Hendrix), Randy Weston, Adrian Ellis, Dave Brubeck Quartet, Buster Williams, James “Blood” Ulmer, Sweet Georgia Brown, Frank Foster & his Loud Minority Big Band.

The Jazz Foundation of America’s A Great Night In Harlem benefit concert will feature more than fifty world-renowned musicians and will include a very special 90th birthday tribute to jazz legend Hank Jones, among other honorees. Sponsored by DIRECTV / BET J, ETRADE Financial, Time Warner, Stephen B. Siegel / CB Richard Ellis, and Agnes Varis / AGVAR Chemicals, Inc. and broadcast live in the U.S. and Canada via XM Satellite Radio, this event will raise funds to provide nationwide emergency assistance and long-term support to jazz and blues musicians in need. For the past 19 years, the Jazz Foundation of America has assisted thousands of jazz and blues musicians and their families in crisis and since Hurricane Katrina, has aided more than 3,500 emergency cases.
