Ellis’s new CD “Shelter” delivers eleven captivating songs that resonate with listeners on a visceral level. Musical director and co-writer Giovanni Loria, whose previous credits include The Black Eyed Peas, Everlast, and Jack Johnson, worked very closely with Ellis throughout the entire project. Ellis and Loria’s musical collaboration is at once both fresh and steeped in a variety of musical traditions. Melodically, the songs hook you in; and lyrically, they haunt you with thoughts or emotions that you’ve pondered or felt before. As a result, “Shelter” is already finding favor with music enthusiasts both young and old alike.

When she is asked why “Shelter” has such a broad appeal, Ellis says simply, “Because it sounds like my heart.”
