San Francisco Bass Weekend Brings Informative Classes & Top Performers this Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10

Now in its second year, San Francisco Bass Weekend convenes this Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10, with classes and performances from top bassists and teachers. Co-sponsored by Bay Area based bass companies Zon Guitars and AccuGroove Speakers, the two-day workshop also features afternoon guest artists Todd Johnson, Ray Riendeau, and Michael Manring on Saturday, with Jean Baudin, Jeff Schmidt, and Stuart Hamm on Sunday.

Classes earlier in the day include funk playing, walking bass lines, practice techniques, playing with a drummer, and soloing. To keep class sizes small, registration for the full weekend is limited to 45 students. (Contact Bass Weekend Director Cory Combs at to check on available space.) However, the afternoon guest performances are open to non-registrants for $15 each day, with doors opening at 3:00 and tickets available at the door.

The Bass Weekend will be held at 1875 Mission Street, between 14th and 15th, just blocks from 16th & Mission BART. For full downloadable descriptions of classes, schedules, locations and artist information, please visit
