Ron Escheté’s Inventive Intros

Considering that he’s worked with Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Diana Krall, Dizzy Gillespie, and other iconic jazz soloists over the years, it should come as no surprise that Ron Escheté is a monster accompanist. In this example, Escheté demonstrates a resplendent way to launch ballads and swing tunes that start with Em (Em11, in this case) as the IIm chord.
