Bob Feldman, founder and president of Red House Records, died January 11 at his home in St. Paul, Minnesota, at the age of 56. Feldman, a tireless promoter and producer, devoted his life to enhancing the careers of folk and roots artists including Greg Brown, Lucy Kaplansky, and recent Grammy nominee Eliza Gilkyson. A note on the Red House website remembers that Feldman “acted as a friend, fan, and business partner to his artists—a combination rarely found.” Feldman is survived by his wife Beth, son Ari, parents Sydney and Toby, his brother Alan, and sister Sheri Cerny.
