MTV Networks’ MHD: Music High-Definition today announced it will premiere singer, songwriter and producer, Sylvia Tosun’s “The Venus Concert,” shot in high-definition, on MHD on Saturday, April 28th at 9PM ET/PT. “The Venus Concert” is a live rock-n-roll stage show that combines modern technology and visual imagery to tell the story of Venus through Tosun’s new songs, including the popular “Jump In.”
“More and more artists, like Sylvia, are realizing that presenting music to fans in high-def is the next best thing to having them sit right in front of you,” said Tom Calderone, Executive Vice President, General Manager, VH1 who also oversees MHD. “MHD truly embraces the full spectrum of music offerings and offers an unparalleled way for artists to reach new audiences, and music fans to discover new artists.”
Tosun is best known internationally for her multi-lingual singing and messages of personal empowerment through her music. Her songwriting collaborations with spiritual poet, Julie Flanders and composer, Emil Adler as well as musical productions with producer, Miklos Malek and Grammy award winning mixer, Tom Lord-Alge, have earned critical praise. She has performed at the Great Wall of China, singing in Mandarin, along side other notable artists including Alicia Keys and Cyndi Lauper and her performances have been described as “mesmeric.”
“I’m thrilled to give my fans a ‘you are there’ experience to enjoy both the grandeur and intimacy of this concert,” said Tosun. “I am grateful to all of the talented and generous people who have come together to help me with this production, and I am honored to have people experience the emotion of these songs and this musical story through MHD.”
Sylvia Tosun has received the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and BMI Award for Excellence in Songwriting. Her original songs have been featured in TV and Film and her remixes have reached the top of the Billboard Dance Charts.
