Premier Builders Guild (PBG) announced that Mike “Junior” Clark, a 29-year MI veteran and accomplished guitarist who most recently served as Sales & Marketing Manager at PRS Amps, has joined PBG as Sales Manager – North America. In addition to his sales management responsibilities, Clark will assume a major role in PBG guitar and amp product development and artist relations.

“We’re delighted that Mike has joined the PBG team,” said Jimmy Lovinggood (PBG Executive Vice-President of Sales & Marketing). “He brings with him a long record of success in sales management, sales training, product development and artist relations. Mike is also an acclaimed guitarist with a unique ability to clearly explain and demonstrate the many important benefits of our boutique guitars and amps.”

Based in Dallas, Texas, Clark has been a performing blues rock guitarist and singer for over 40 years. He toured regularly with Texas blues legend Bugs Henderson, as well as with the Stratoblasters and Turnabout, who was named Best Rock Band and Best Blues Band by the Dallas Observer. Clark won the prestigious Texas Tornado award in 1983, joining a list that includes Stevie Ray Vaughn, Billy Gibbons, Albert Collins, Doyle Bramhall II and Johnny “Guitar” Watson. Clark currently gigs with his own band, Junior & The Journeymen.

While at PRS, Clark was heavily involved in the development and launch of a range of amps, including the PRS 2-channel “H” amp played by Tom Johnston (Doobie Brothers) and PRS 2-channel custom amps. He previously ran his own independent rep firm, where he represented Carr, PRS, and Zinky. He was also a factory representative for Gibson Guitars, where he helped establish Epiphone’s successful involvement with the Tejano Music Awards and the Selena tribute guitar.

“I’m impressed by the collaborative nature of the PBG approach,” said Clark. “I’ll do my best to help extend that spirit to all areas of activity and especially to dealer relationships. Training is a big part of that, and I look forward to working with dealers to make the tremendous benefits of PBG boutique gear readily apparent to players at all levels.”
