Arcade Rock

With their deft mash-up of experimental, electronic, and rock music, it’s difficult—if not impossible—to compare KHS to any other band. Especially when you consider the way the group injects their hearty guitar riffs with quirky bleeps and bloops reminiscent of classic Nintendo games such as Super Mario Brothers. Main guitarist Gabe Ausiello’s ultra-melodic guitar parts glaze the album with a tuneful pop vibe, yet his playing and tone are heavy and intense enough to placate young snot-nosed punks. Arcade Rock is an admirable debut for KHS. They have done well to dabble in such a unique mix of sounds and, I must say, make a cohesive album that is just downright fun to listen to.( Evo)
