Don Ross is an acoustic virtuoso who describes his style as “heavy wood.” He is a two-time winner of the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship, and is widely regarded as a pioneer of the art. Ross has at least fifteen official solo albums to his credit and is currently on the CandyRat label alongside other fingerstyle stars Andy McKee and Antoine Dufour, both of whom cite Ross as an influence. His latest CD is a collaboration with prodigious Calum Graham called 12:34.
Ross is an expert at incorporating captivating harmonics into enjoyable solo instrumental arrangements that groove like mad, and he will be performing alone at Yoshi's San Francisco this Wednesday. Come witness how exciting a single astounding player and his trusty acoustic can be at one of the Bay Area's most acoustically sound venues.
Watch Ross play “The Upright and Locked Position,” the melodic title track from his 2012 release.
