Guitar Player is honored to team with SFJAZZ to present arguably the greatest flamenco guitarist of all time.
Paco de Lucia drops from public view for years at a time, so it’s especially exciting to herald his return to the Bay Area, where he recorded the live album that catapulted him to international stardom, 1981’s Friday Night In San Francisco. A sensational showdown with jazz stars John McLaughlin and Al Di Meola, it cemented de Lucia’s status as a guitar hero.
De Lucia is supporting En Vivo Conciertos: Live in Spain, his first release of new material in seven years, and first live album in 18. His fleet fingers show no signs of slowing down, and his band is equally exciting. His current ensemble features smoldering global dance phenomenon Farru, as well as heralded vocalists Duquende and David de Jacoba.
