Ernie Ball Wah Pedal

The Wah Pedal($249 retail/$199 street) is basically a wah version of EB’s popular mono Volume Pedal. It sports the same cast-aluminum shell, Kevlar cable drive mechanism, and 12-degree foot sweep, along with true-bypass switching, and twin blue status LEDs. The input and output jacks are located on the front, allowing you to tuck it into a narrow slot on a pedalboard.

The Wah is relatively quiet overall, though it pops noticeably when switched in. It is voiced beautifully, and sweeps smoothly and evenly from tight lows to bright, but not overly harsh, highs, with a very vocal-like sweet spot about halfway (which also provides great “notch” effects with the pedal in a stationary position). This is a pro unit, well worth the price if you dig the way it sounds.

Rugged construction. I/O on front. True-bypass switching. Beautifully voiced.

On/off switch pops.
