Hi Mike, I have a MOTU 896 FireWire audio interface, MOTU Mach 5, and a LaCie Big Disk 250GB hard drive. My problem is, when I try to stream audio from my FireWire disk, or try to play music from iTunes when I copy to a FireWire device, I get interference in the sound. It seems to me that the FireWire bus is overloaded, but my 896 is on FW 400 and LaCie Disk on the FW 800 bus. I tried to reinstall the drivers and made sure I had the newest firmware but still have problems. I have a dual 1.42-GHz PowerMac with 1.5GB RAM running OS X 10.3.8. This problem disappears when I use one of the internal IDE drives. —Rory
