After recording their debut album, Phantoms, with keyboard parts, Seattle band Acceptance — channelers of catchy pop-rock reminiscent of Jimmy Eat World — needed a keyboard player to replicate their songs live. Help came in the form of their merch guy, Kyle Flynn, who had joined the band on tour shortly after graduating from college. 23-year-old Flynn, who studied piano from kindergarten through high school, had spent almost eight years solely playing guitar in several Seattle punk and hardcore bands. Making the transition last November, although admittedly a bit strange, was ultimately gratifying.
