Seiko Astron GPS Solar World-Time
The blackout look allows the Astron to fly under the radar, but don’t be deceived by the deep dial’s clean design. It masks the world’s first solar-powered quartz watch movement to sync time using a GPS satellite signal. And when you travel, the Astron will automatically adjust to the current time zone with the push of a button.
Bell & Ross BR-X1 Hyperstellar
Despite its substantial girth (45mm), the limited-edition Hyperstellar (250 pieces) displays a lack of heft when picked up. Blue anodized aluminum adds contrast and focuses attention on the partially skeletonized movement, which is visible through the gray-tinted, sapphire-crystal dial. Rocker-style pushers on the side of the square case control the 30-minute chronograph.
HYT H1 Iceberg 2
Watching the blue liquid rise up and circle the dial as it counts the hours is a show that never disappoints, but it’s the minute dial’s vivid shade that really invites the eye to linger. The rich azure is actually a combination of grand feu enamel topped with a clear sapphire glass disc. Production is limited to 50 pieces.
Urwerk UR-105TA Clockwork Orange
Limited to 20 pieces, the UR-105TA uses advanced engineering to create an unconventional time display that’s a wonder to witness and fun to read. As numbered “UFOs” orbit the dial, one indicates the hour. At the same time, it points to the minute as it makes its way on the numbered track that curves along the edge of the PVD-coated case.
