At 4 p.m. EST today, U2 frontman Bono will have the edge over Paul McCartney as the wealthiest rock musician in the world.
NME.com reports that Bono, who owns a 2.3 percent stake in Facebook through his investment group, Elevation Partners, is expected to see his net worth increase -- big time -- when the social-networking company goes public today.
Facebook is valued at more than $100 billion, which will make Bono’s share worth more than $1.5 billion. That's not a bad investment considering that Bono bought his Facebook shares for about $90 million in 2009.
The former Beatle's fortune is estimated to be slightly over $1 billion.
