Fender has debuted its new Rarities Flame Koa Top Stratocaster.
The latest model in the company's Rarities series, the Flame Koa Top Strat features a two-piece ash body with - unsurprisingly - a flame koa top and a one-piece, quartersawn European maple neck with a 9.5”-radius fingerboard and 22 narrow-tall frets.
Sonically, the axe is appointed with custom Tim Shaw overwound 59 gold-foil single-coil middle and neck pickups, plus a Shaw custom Filter ’Tron-style humbucking bridge pickup. A six-point synchronized tremolo and aged white plastic controls also come standard.
Elsewhere, the Strat also comes fitted with a five-way blade selector switch, master volume and two tone knobs - one for the neck pickup and the other for the bridge and middle pickups.
The Flame Koa Top Strat follows in the Rarities series footsteps of the Quilt Maple Top Strat and Tele, plus the Flame Maple Top Chambered Tele, Flame Maple Top Strat, Red Mahogany Top Tele and Flame Ash Top Strat.
The Fender Rarities Flame Koa Top Stratocaster comes with a deluxe hardshell case, and is available now for $2,499.99.
