Yamaha Celebrates The Big 4-0 American Style

March 1, 2010

gp0310_riffs_csgp_nrYAMAHA GUITARS RECENTLY CELEBRATED A BIG milestone: 40 years of selling acoustic and electric guitars in the U.S. It all started back in 1969 with the classic FG acoustic line, immortalized with Country Joe McDonald’s performance at Woodstock. That guitar would become the first instrument for generations of players and go on to be the best-selling guitar of all time. In the electric line, Yamaha scored when Carlos Santana championed the SG (later SBG) models in the ’70s, and current SBG users include Chris Poland, Dweezil Zappa, and many others. With a newly renovated custom shop in North Hollywood, a thriving artist roster that spans all genres, and new models coming all the time, the next 40 years should be just as promising for Yamaha.
