Takamine LTD2011 Embodies Spirit of Iki

March 1, 2011

0.000.aa2011takamineTakamine’s LTD2011 was created in the Japanese spirit of “Iki”—a traditional aesthetic ideal that promotes an emotional connection between the person and the object.

Featuring Takamine’s NEX small jumbo body, the LTD2011 produces impeccable balance across the entire playable range with a sweet and expressive voice. Meticulously applied shell and kimono cloth inlay is brought to life in the form of goldfish swimming through the Indigo Burst hued solid spruce soundboard. A ripple effect is created by golden string inlay, the same type of string that is traditionally used to wrap gifts given at weddings, symbolizing the gift givers wishes of good health and fortune.

The LTD2011 is handcrafted from fine tone woods including a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back, rosewood bridge, ebony fretboard and mahogany sides. When the time comes to make music, every bit of the harmonic richness of the instrument is delivered crystal clear through the innovative CTP-2 -- the first and only “Tube” preamp built into an acoustic guitar.
