Standback Amp Stand

June 17, 2005

Resembling a roadside-emergency reflector when assembled, its three high-density laminated polyethylene legs fold down to a compact stack in seconds, so it can be conveniently stashed in the back of your combo amp or in your accessories bag. With a little practice, set-up is quick and easy. The only tricky part is getting the foam-rubber block positioned properly below the amp, but you’ll quickly get the hang of it after a few tries. When set up and adjusted properly, the Standback provides stable support to small and medium-size combos, but it can get a bit wobbly when used with larger amps and cabs. (Standback’s manufacturer recommends it for amps under 70 pounds, and says a heavier-duty model is currently in development.) If you’re looking for a simple, durable, and easily transported amp stand, you might find the Standback to be an outstanding value.
