The Junior packs 35 watts RMS and
can drive its 5” speaker to levels that
belie its tiny size. Built like a tank, the
amp features Gain, Tone, and Volume
controls; a variable headphone/line
out; a speaker on/off switch, and a
12-volt input for the optional battery
pack or car adapter. The Junior
was able to hang with a band as long
as not a lot of clean headroom was
needed, while serving up sweet tones
with a variety of effects pedals—two
of which can be powered via the
Junior’s 9-volt out.
AMERICAN STAGE CABLES
Available in 10-, 15-, 20-, and 30-foot lengths,
these clear-sounding cables feature audiophile-
grade wire and custom Neutrik plugs
(straight or right-angle) with a special GeoTip
that’s designed to make solid contact in any
guitar, amp, or effects jack. With a nice flexible
feel and rugged build, these cables offer a
lot of performance for the money.
JIM WEIDER BIG-T TELECASTER NECK PICKUP
Based on Jim Weider’s original design, the Big-T is designed to enhance the sound of your Tele’s
neck-pickup setting. Hand-wound by Lindy Fralin, the Big-T is a highly specialized pickup that delivers
a rich, beefy tone with clear, well-detailed highs, and enough output to balance well with hot
bridge pickups. I installed one in a G&L ASAT Classic, and the Big-T proved more useful for rythm
and lead playing than other neck pickups I’ve tried.
TU-10 CHROMATIC TUNER
Offering enhanced visibility courtesy of its
bright, “true color” LCD, this sleek looking clip-on
tuner can be calibrated for as much as five
semitones below standard pitch for drop tunings.
I like how the readout is extremely stable,
even with solidbody guitars, making it a great
choice for tuning virtually anything with strings.
