Roy Gaines and his Orchestra Tuxedo Blues

February 1, 2011
share

Roy Gaines shows his talents as a vocalist and a guitarist, who has a cool R&B guitar style that’s perfectly suited for this collection of bluesy, swinging tunes. Inspired by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Jimmy Rushing, Gaines’ debut CD is an outstanding tribute to the uptown big-band sound of the ’40s and ’50s. You just don’t hear things like this every day. Black Gold.
