Ron Carter to be honored in Detroit

Jazz master Ron Carter will be one of the headliners at the Detroit International Jazz Festival to be held this Labor Day weekend. Sources say the Detroit City Council is preparing a Testimonial Resolution—the city’s highest honor—to present to Carter in acknowledgment for his contribution to music and education. Other headliners include Patti Austin, Dave Brubeck, and Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood.
