Reverend Reveals New Headstocks for Volcano and Ron Asheton Signature Guitars

August 27, 2012
In a constant endeavor to make cooler guitars, Reverend has renovated the Volcano headstock. The new, symmetrical headstock is a better contrast to the oset body of the model and gives the guitar a classic feel. The new headstock is available on both the Volcano and the similar Ron Asheton Signature models.
The Volcano is an offset V, vintage-vibe guitar with the beefy-yet-clear tone. The raised center ridge improves sustain while the thinner wings add resonance. With two Reverend Humbuckers, the guitar is lively, clear, and rich in harmonics. It is available in Black or Vintage Clear, both with rosewood fretboards. The Ron Asheton Signature model is based on the Volcano, with 3 P-90s and a 5-Way toggle switch. It has an edgier, more percussive tone than the original Volcano, which was more in keeping with Ron’s tone. It is available in Rock Orange with three lightning bolts in the upper horn and a Rosewood fretboard. A portion of the proceeds of this guitar go to the Ron Asheton Foundation.

Reverend is committed to providing instruments for everybody. They are designed from the best that Vintage and Modern guitars and basses have to offer: celebrated materials, select upgrades, and the next step in guitar design. All of our guitar and bass bodies are made from Korina wood – a material with great vintage appeal, consistent weight and tone, and environmentally sound farming practices. We partner with original musicians, independent dealers, and like-minded companies. Reverend is for the innovators, the creators, and the independent thinkers. For more information, please visit
