Pete Anderson Even Things Up

March 22, 2011

Inspired songs, great tones, and soulful playing make this CD a score for fans of Anderson’s rootsy style. The guitarist shows a lot different facets here, with sojourns into funky jazz, West Coast swing, R&B, zydeco, and country blues. Flanked by the sweet keyboard work of Michael Murphy, Anderson is a groove-aholic whether he’s dishing out fat lead lines, chicken pickin’ a rhythmic melody, or kicking down a soaring slide solo. Bonus tracks include a sultry cameo by Bekka Bramlett and a couple of live cuts from an August 2010 club date. VizzTone.
