Take a long guitar cable and plug one end into any unused jack on the monitor desk. Take the other end and plug it into any unused jack on your guitar amp (like an effects send). This will connect the grounds of the P.A. and your amp together and prevent you from being the easiest path for the electricity. Also, when you test the mic, touch it with the back of your hand. Here’s why: If you get a big electric shock, it can cause your muscles to contract and actually grab on harder to the mic! If you use the back of your hand, you’ll just grab the air.”
