You can take the Madman out of Motor City, but can you ever really take Motor City out of the Madman? Ted Nugent is moving to Texas. Crawford, Texas, that is. “It’s right around the corner from President Bush’s ranch,” the Nuge told the Associated Press. With his VH1 reality show, Surviving Nugent, being filmed in Waco, Texas, the high-quality hunting Texas has to offer, and his “100 percent” support of Bush according to AP, Nugent indeed seems ready to settle in the Lone Star state. In January, his wife Rita announced that his remains would be exhumed from his grave in Jamaica, and buried in Shashemene, Ethiopia. The scheduled February internment was part of a month-long celebration in Ethiopia that marked what would have been Marley’s 60th birthday. . . .For five months prior to his horrific death, Dimebag Darrell had been working directly with Dean Zelinsky to create a new line of Dean guitars. In January, Darrell’s family gave Zelinsky the green light to release the line, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Dimebag Darrell Memorial Fund. The line includes three models, ranging in price from $299 to more than $5,000, and each will have a tribute crest on the headstock. Griffin was also a songwriter, and won an Oscar in 1970 for the song “For All We Know,” from the movie Lovers and Other Strangers. The song went on to be a hit for the Carpenters. Griffin left Bread in 1973, and then formed Black Tie in the ’80s. Through the ’90s, he was an active member of the Nashville scene with his group, the Remingtons.
