Oct. 21-23, 2005, Music Player Live! will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, in the heart of Time Square. The event will follow the format from the successful Bass Player Live!, with exhibits, live performances and interviews, lessons and panels, designed for every skill level, and players of guitar, bass, keyboard, and those interested in recording.
“Music Player Live! is designed to connect musicians and potential new players with the product and technology used to make music,” said Valerie Pippin, Events Director. “This event is geared at not only Music Player's core audience of experienced musicians, but musical newbies, beginners, and students -- groups that trade shows and other music events cannot deliver.”
Attendees will be able to meet their music heroes, get their hands on the newest and most exciting gear out there, learn how to play—or play better, check out live music, and buy the gear they want at the show through MPL!’s exclusive retail sponsor.
Music Player Network is opening up the event arena further than other publishing companies have in the past. While Music Player Live! caters towards accomplished players, the exciting moments are with the first time, new players, who will get the complete hands-on experience, by trying out the most up-to-date and classic, vintage gear available, while listening to the advice and techniques of the best professional players out there. One of the missions of the consumer event in addition to providing quality content, performances, and exhibits to its core audience, is to get people at the show that have never picked up a bass, guitar, keyboard, or microphone and make new players out of them.
In October 2004, the company hosted its first event, Bass Player Live!, a two-day conference, exhibition, and concert in New York City with over 800 attendees and over 25 exhibitors. The event received national press with mention on Sirius Satellite Radio, local press, and the David Letterman Show.
