Muriel Andersons All-Star Guitar Night

July 1, 2010

ALWAYS ONE OF THE HOTTEST TICKETS AT THE NAMM Show, All-Star Guitar Night moved to the beautiful Orange County Pavilion for its Winter 2010 concert, packing the art-deco-styled theater with gear manufacturers, musicians, and music fans. Performers included ASGN founder Muriel Anderson, Tierra Negra, Monte Montgomery, Laurence Juber, Pete Huttlinger, Reeves Gabrels, Johnny Hiland, Scott Henderson, Guitar Player’s Guitar Superstar champion Steve Senes, GPGS finalist Mike Orlando, Jude Gold, Jeff Berlin, and the extraordinary rhythm section of bassist Stu Hamm and drummer Danny Gottlieb. You can watch videos of all the amazing performances at

Muriel Anderson cradles her massive—yet beautiful— harp guitar during the night’s acoustic set.

Reeves Gabrels uncorked an incendiary set that included some beautifully bizarre legato passages performed with a sex toy against the guitar stings.

Monte Montgomery’s set is so energized and rockin’ that it’s a real mind-blower when you realize he’s doing everything on an Alvarez acoustic.

Laurence Juber channels George Harrison during his rendition of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”

Jude Gold and Gretchen Menn’s “acoustic” duo, Lapdance Armageddon, went electric, and bolstered their sound with the mighty Hamm/ Gottlieb rhythm section.
