Summit Daily Blog MMS Blog (www.coolerthanafan.blogspot.com) has been updated with new artist previews on Kim Taylor, Mickey Avalon, Turnbull AC's and Cameron McGill. Many of the bloggers coming in for the Blogger Panel have been contibuting over the last few weeks including: Dodge, Craig, Eric and Joe. Stop by and post your thoughts and grab some free downloads. Here's sample posted by Craig of Songs:Illinois about one of our favorites; Chicago's Cameron McGill.
Hi live show (which impressed the unwashed hordes at CMJ) now features a full band with cello. While Cameron is safely within the walls of the singer-songwriter encampment, his songs, which range from 5-7 minutes, are not your usual folky fare. Verse chorus verse structure apparently doesn't do it for Cameron, so instead he's delved deep into his personal history as well as his own mythology to come up with a sound that of course will continue to be compared to Jeff Buckley and Bob Dylan but rightly should just be his own.
New performing artists have been added including Anderson native Jon McLaughlin (Island/Def Jam), The Tide, The Modern Society, and Shock G (of Digital Underground). The band schedule is available at www.midwestmusic summit.com or you can connect directly to the custom view or spreadsheet view. Performing artists for 2006 include: Dr. Octagon (Kool Keith), Silversun Pickups, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, Local H, Mickey Avalon & Andre Legacy, Murder By Death, Page France, Russian Circles, Shock G, The Elms, Virgin Millionaires, Office, Early Day Miners, The Randies, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, Cities, C-Rayz Walz, Man In Gray, Raise The Red Lantern, Cameron McGill, Hot IQ's + over 300 more. As you browse the schedule, you can select any artist and listen to music, purchase their album, get contact information and browse their bio.

There is something about that hot Indiana Summer sun beating down on you, ice cold free beer and rum, and some power networking that seems to set your weekend off in style (Free Sailor Jerry 92-proof spiced rum, Reyka Icelandic Vodka and beer from 3:30-5PM). Hungry? We knew you would ask! We just added complimentary YATS Cajun Creole during the "free" 3:30-5PM window. And yes, there will be some Chilli Cheese Crawfish Etouffe in the house. You must have an MMS Badge to be admitted to the party. This is a private event and is closed to the public (no wristbands admitted). Performing artists include Everything Now!, Page France, Cabin and The Tide.
2006 Music Industry Seminars have been updated with new guest speakers from Fleet Team Booking, Capitol Records, WRLT Lighting 100, V2-Artemis and Beat Management. We are excited to announce that all panel discussions (with the exception of the mentor sessions) will be held at the swanky Jazz Kitchen. If you have your badge (required) you will be treated to coffee and juice throught out the day as well as a lunch buffet from Noon-1:30 PM. Don't forget, late registration ends this August 8th. After the 8th, you will be able to register on-site for $175. Save your self $25 bucks and register now. Purchase Conference Badge for $150.
