IK Multimedia Donates Prizes for Jimmy Page and Brian May's Charity Initiative, The Riffathon

August 5, 2005

IK's award-winning professional music production software, SampleTank 2XL, AmpliTube, AmpliTube LIVE and T-RackS were given to the winner of the Studio Recording section, Carl Gethin. Carl happily received his prizes presented by legendary musicians Jimmy Page, Brian May and Dan Hawkins from The Darkness.

The Riffathon is an annual UK event to find the most talented young rock guitarists. The competition is sponsored by some of the worlds leading music and gear manufacturers - including Gibson, Vox, Virgin Music, Guitarist Magazine, the Academy of Contemporary Music and, for the first time, IK Multimedia. The competition took place at the end of July at the Hammersmith Apollo theatre in London. All the proceeds from the event went to the A.B.C. Trust, a charity set up to help disadvantaged children in Brazil.

"IK Multimedia is honored to donate prizes for the Studio Recording section of The Riffathon. We are proud to be included among the global collective of supporters for creative competitive talent in the name of charity," said Paul Kaufman of IK Multimedia, UK.

The Riffathon is supported by Guitarist and Total Guitar magazines, The Academy of Contemporary Music, Gibson, Vox, Sound Control and IK Multimedia. The Riffathon actively supports the ABC Trust.
