Guitar Player Presents Jimi Lives March 10th at the Boom Boom Room in SF—Win Tickets

February 24, 2010

Win tickets to this exhilarating record release party and live Hendrix tribute Featuring Shelley Doty, James Nash, RonKat Spearman with Michael Cavaseno, Jimmy Leslie, plus special guest guitar stars.

Nearly 40 years after he slipped into the next world, Jimi Hendrix is still the most mythical guitarist ever to rock our planet. His legacy only grows exponentially over time. The Hendrix family corporation that controls Jimi’s estate—Experience Hendrix—has settled past legal differences, and they’ve gathered 12 previously unreleased fully realized studio recordings now available commercially for the first time. Come revel in the release of Valleys of Neptune with Guitar Player magazine. We’ll spin the disc, and then enjoy live Jimi jams with some of the baddest players from around the Bay Area into the wee hours. We’re inviting the guitar stars from the Experience Hendrix tour that’s playing at the Warfield Theatre earlier that night. Who knows who may show for this explosive celebration of all things Jimi? How could any Hendrix enthusiast worth his or her strings not show allegiance by making a presence?

Shelley Doty (Yo Miles!)
James Nash (The Waybacks)
Jimmy Leslie (Honey Island Swamp Band)
RonKat Spearman (P-Funk) and Michael Cavaseno (Katdelic, Storm)
