Guitar Player and Live Nation Present Santana at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, on October 11 – Win Tickets!

October 9, 2008

He’s had the most recognizable guitar tone on the planet for the past four decades, and his 1999 comeback single “Smooth” featuring Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas was recently named the second-most popular single in the 50-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. (Chubby Checker’s “The Twist” got the top spot.) That’s exactly the kind of pop stuff Santana avoided when selecting tunes for the spiritually oriented Multi-Dimensional Warrior. Disc one is loaded with vocals, while disc two is a solid set of inspiring instrumentals including “Europa,” and “Samba Pa Ti.” It’s reasonable to expect Santana will perform several such gems, and deliver an even deeper than usual performance.

Santana will be signing a blown up version of the December cover before the show, and a lucky attendee who signs the GP Presents mailing list will win the wall trophy. Make sure to stop by the booth in the concourse to put your name in the running.

The Salvador Santana Band will start the evening off with a set that infuses Latin rock with hip-hop.

Two Santanas — one unbelievable evening. Get your tickets before they sell out, or pay double on Craigslist.
