“Partnering with THQ, a leader in the video game development community, is an opportunity to provide our customers with an exciting and unique prize,” said Jack Sonni, Vice President of Marketing Communication for Guitar Center. “Video games are an integral part of a musician’s lifestyle and music is a high profile element in the current crop of video games.”
MX vs. ATV Unleashed, launching on all major video game platforms this month, will feature a special option called “Guitar Center Jukebox,” where gamers can choose from 20 tracks to listen to while they attempt to conquer the off-road terrain. Some of the featured artists include Black Eyed Peas, Unwritten Law, Papa Roach, and NickelBack. A special edition Guitar Center monster truck will also be available when gamers are selecting their vehicle options.
“Music plays an important role in THQ’s marketing strategy for MX vs. ATV Unleashed,” said Craig Rechenmacher, director, global brand management. “Partnering with Guitar Center for this promotion is a key component for us to increase product exposure during the title’s launch.”
The month-long MX vs. ATV Unleashed promotion will culminate with the winner announced on Guitar Center’s website in April. Participants can submit entries at any Guitar Center location or online at www.guitarcenter.com.
