GP Presents Yngwie Malmsteen on Monday, May 13th at the Regency Ballroom in SF—Win Tickets!

May 6, 2013
Yngwie. He’s one of a select few guitar icons identifiable by first name alone. It would be a stretch to say his playing is recognizable by a single note because, well, he’s rarely ever held one note for long. Conversely, Yngwie is instantly recognizable firing off flurries of notes faster than most players could muster up one or two. Shred is alive and well in Yngwie’s frightening fingers.

GP had the pleasure of presenting Yngwie Malmsteen in 2005, and it’s still one of the most memorable and successful events in the eight-year history of GP Presents. Shredders and GP editors represented in force to witness the Swedish maestro first hand. None left disappointed. The consensus opinion was that Malmsteen was as flabbergasting as ever on the fretboard, and although his pants were a bit tighter, his showmanship and devil-may-care attitude straight outta the ’80s was sincere and appreciated.

Can Yngwie bring the same heat in 2013? There’s only one sure way to find out. Scratch any other plans you may have for Monday May 13th and head to the gorgeous Regency Ballroom in the very heart of San Francisco. The maestro beckons—answer his call!

Check out samples from Malmsteen’s new record, Spellbound.
