Good Old War Announce Spring US Headlining Tour

January 25, 2012
imgGood Old War will embark on their first national headlining tour in two years, kicking things off on March 8th in Knoxville, Tennessee at the Relix Varsity Theatre. The nearly two-month-long trek is the band’s first in support of their new full-length studio album Come Back As Rain – out March 6th on Sargent House. The Belle Brigade and Family of the Year will be joining Good Old War for the duration and the run will include a stop at this year’s SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
The Philadelphia trio’s new album, Come Back As Rain, was recorded in Omaha, NE in the Spring of 2011 at Another Recording Company with producer Jason Cupp (Maps & Atlases) and showcases the band’s ability to create “…flawless vocal harmonies” (Wall Street Journal) and write songs that are “…catchy and refined…” (NPR).  The new album is also the follow up to their self-titled sophomore album (Sargent House), which debuted at #2 on Billboard’s “New Artist Chart” and ranked #1 on both and iTunes’ Singer/Songwriter chart. Come Back As Rain will hit stores on March 6th and features the first single “Calling Me Names,” which has picked up more than 30 adds at AAA radio in the past two weeks alone.
Good Old War became one of the breakout artists from Coachella this past year and they’ve amassed a dedicated following over the past two years by hitting the road with a diverse pack of artists, including Alison Krauss & Union Station, Guster, Joshua Radin, Brandi Carlile, Dr. Dog, Xavier Rudd, and Gomez.  They plan to follow their big US headlining tour with several summer festivals to be announced soon.
