Located at 745 Boylston Street in Boston's busy Back Bay neighborhood, the store features a wealth of innovations: A luthier mini-studio allows visitors to watch a craftsperson while he or she puts the finishing touches on actual handmade custom guitars; a virtual Guitar Builder kiosk welcomes customers to design their own guitar from scratch while consulting with the on-site luthier; and a stage for performances features local and national artists in an intimate setting (logging in appearances already by Ray Lamontagne, Nickel Creek, De Sol, and Waltham).
The centerpiece of the store, of course, will be First Act's stunning guitars, including examples of custom one-of-a-kind models, the handmade Limited Edition line, and First Act's newly-announced SFA Series, which is based on modified and upgraded production models. Other highlights include high-end amplifiers and guitar accessories as well as a selection of CDs (in partnership with Virgin Megastore).
First Act's Chairman of the Board, Bernard Chiu, says: "Our strategy is to become the name associated with all levels of players, from professionals to amateurs. We pride ourselves on innovation and we feel that making an incredible product is just the beginning. With the First Act Guitar Studio we're throwing our doors open and inviting everyone to be a part of First Act, building a bond that may last a lifetime. Whether it's a young player who's never seen a guitar being built, a lifelong musician seeking their holy grail instrument, or just someone with a growing interest in music, we're here for them."
Based in Boston, Massachusetts, First Act is a premiere musical products company that has quickly established a sterling reputation for quality, from their custom one-of-a-kind guitars crafted for professionals, to a wide range of superior musical instruments for beginning players available in stores nationwide.
