Ernie Ball Announces Battle of The Bands Showcase Finalists!

October 15, 2008

With live gigs becoming harder to obtain and local music scenes fizzling out across America, Sterling Ball wanted to come up with a way to not only keep the local music scene thriving, but also give some of the great unsigned bands a chance to show off their chops in front of sold-out crowds numbering the ten thousands.  Fast forward to 2008 and The Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands is now in its 12th year and has proved to be a breeding ground for America's best unsigned talent.  Each year Ernie Ball has more than 14,000 + bands flock to in order to stake their claim at performing live on stage at the Warped Tour.  The bands put their best riffs forward and show the judges that they have what it takes to be invited out to the Annual Ernie Ball Battle of The Bands Showcase.  This year, four lucky bands have earned the right to battle it out one more time at the Key Club Hollywood on December 4th in front of a packed house filled with industry executives.  The Aphony, Red Care Wire, The Settings and The Scenic have all developed a loyal following and Ernie Ball is proud to feature these Battle bands at this year's showcase.  Among the prizes that are up for grabs are:  a $15,000 shopping spree at Guitar Center, a $1,000 Hurley custom apparel package as well as an Ernie Ball prize pack that includes multiple Music Man instruments, strings and accessories.  Daniel Wolf of The Scenic proudly stated, “We are excited beyond words to have this opportunity from Ernie Ball.  The company has gone above and beyond what any company needs to do to help and support up and coming bands like us.  We are extremely grateful to have been selected out of thousands of bands to play for such amazing opportunities.  It's something that is extremely appreciated by the band as well as everyone who supports us.”  Please stay tuned to as we will announce the special guest headliner on October 24th!
