GUITAR PLAYER PRESENTED ELI Jebidiah’s Guitarmageddon at the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA, where the vibe was as lofty as the surroundings. The music of the White Stripes was the theme for the perennial jam that gives guitarists a chance to go berserk. Jebidiah is best known as the primary acoustic guitar picker and charismatic ringleader of the bluegrass jam band Poor Man’s Whiskey, and he directed a rotating cast that included Dan Lebowitz (ALO), Josh Clark (Tea Leaf Green), Sean Leahy (Four Year Bender), and many more. Leahy and artist-at-large Eric McFadden duked it out on “The Hardest Button to Button.” Leahy eventually punched out his own guitar, leaving his hand bloodied and his Stratocaster wounded. I dropped off boxes of the August GP (Jack White cover), and joined the mayhem on “My Doorbell,” “Icky Thump,” and an apocalyptic “Seven Nation Army” for the finale.
