Howlin’ Wolf

The Howlin’ Wolf Story
In this lovingly produced 90-minute documentary on Chester Burnett— the inimitable Howlin’ Wolf—we learn about the man behind the music from those who knew him best. His daughters, Hubert Sumlin, Marshall Chess—as well as notable blues historians, promoters, musicians, and writers—all add a human dimension to Wolf’s mythical persona. Highlights include sublime historical footage of early-’60s Chicago blues clubs with Wolf and Muddy Waters in the house and onstage, and excerpts from concert and TV performances by Wolf and his butt-shakin’ band. BMG Bluebird.
