Daisy Rock Reaches Out to Youth Sponsoring Guitars in the Classroom

April 25, 2008

Teachers are welcome to borrow an acoustic guitar, free of charge, courtesy of GITC sponsor, Daisy Rock Guitars. The industry’s premiere girl guitar company is well-known for their unique selection of lightweight, thin-necked instruments ideal for the smaller hands and lighter builds of females and children alike. Guitars in the Classroom and Daisy Rock share a common goal of making music accessible and getting guitars into the hands of musicians everywhere.

Hornblower tours donates the venue as part of their endeavors to give special attention to environmental and community education. This professional development event will be presented in partnership San Diego's Mission4Music charity foundation, a parent and community-led organization.

GITC, a non-profit based in Solana Beach, trains and equips educators in 23 states to integrate music across the curriculum each day so all children get the chance to discover the joy and power of making music. The work has proven itself to be a powerful tool for all kinds of learners including those who face special challenges or are learning English as a second language. Teachers who consider themselves shower singers and total beginners are encouraged to sign up. Everyone has the ability to succeed in this program.
