Bert Elliot and friends staging Hurricane Sandy benefit concert for the Rockaways with special guest Bernie Williams

November 28, 2012
Bert Elliot is coordinating a benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy victims from the Rockaways, New York on December 2, 2012. The event is being held at KJ Farrell’s in Bellmore, NY, who is donating the space.
Special guest former NY Yankee and Grammy-nominated guitar virtuoso Bernie Williams will join Bert and his band on stage to funk up a few tunes. For a limited number of early attendees, Bernie will be graciously posing for photos and offering autographed Benefit t-shirts for a $50 donation.

In addition to enjoying a great evening of music, there will be raffles and auctions for many items and memorabilia, including an autographed guitar courtesy of Steve Stevens signed by Billy Idol, Duff McKagen, Fred Durst, and Dave Navarro; show tickets for the Public Theater; a makeover at Bergdorf Goodman; a signed guitar from the group Tonic; signed albums belonging to Leon Russell, Lou Reed; signed Willie Nelson tour poster, Lost Lonely Boys tour poster; a Bill Buckner/Mookie Wilson signed photo; and autographed Kiss posters (by Frank Galasso) to name a few.

Bert Elliot, a native of the Rockaways, has received worldwide acclaim for his instrumental guitar work. Playing drums at age 8 and shifting to guitar at 18, Bert has written background and theme music for network TV shows such as VH1, NFL Football, Jerry Springer, and Maury Povich. Featured in Guitar Player, regarding his track, "Don't Shoot, Let's Rock," editor-in-chief Michael Molenda wrote: "Elliot wears his Wired-era Jeff Beck influence like a neon tattoo, but he pulls it off by nailing the master's whammy excursions and melodic taste.  The ballsy and totally professional production of the track doesn't hurt either, as the driving tune highlights his phrasing and well-crafted guitar tones."

All proceeds will be donated to the victims of Hurricane Sandy in the Rockaways and are tax deductible.
