10th Annual Thanks Jimi Festival to be Held in Wroclaw, Poland on May 1, 2012

April 20, 2012
Wroclaw, PolandThe 10th Annual Thanks Jimi Festival will take place on May 1, 2012, in beautiful Wroclaw, Poland. In 2009, the festival set the Guinness World Record for "Largest Guitar Orchestra," when 6,346 guitarists and bassists were lead by Steve Morse in playing "Hey Joe" together in Wroclaw's historic Market Square (besting the old record with nearly three times as many players).
This year, festival founder and guitar educator Leszek Cichoński hopes to top the 2009 numbers and break the festival's own record. Joining him in the effort will be Leon Hendrix, Marcus Miller, John Norum (Europe), Bernie Mardsen (Whitesnake), Gwyn Ashton, Stan Skibby, Miles Davis alum jazz violinist Michał Urbaniak, Guitar Player magazine's Barry Cleveland, and a host of Poland's top guitarists and bassists. Wroclaw's guitar-playing city mayor, Rafał Dutkiewicz, will even join in the fun.
There will also be real time satellite events in other countries linked in online, and individuals can join in online as well. Full details are at: heyjoefest.com
