Jack White’s Acoustic Tour Uses AEA KU4 Mics Exclusively

April 24, 2015
Jack White has been performing a series of totally acoustic shows with his quartet, miked entirely by AEA KU4 ribbon microphones. These are the first completely acoustic full concerts White has ever performed.

The KU4 is a modern and consistent version of the RCA KU3A, a unidirectional ribbon mic that for years was the standard in the motion picture industry thanks to its excellent and smooth response for both voice and music. AEA (Audio Engineering Associates) has faithfully re-engineered the mic from the ground up for classic tone with modern build and reliability.

White’s acoustic tour caps off the world tour for his 2014 album, Lazaretto, and follows on his pair of headlining performances at Coachella this April. The acoustic tour will visit just five U.S. states where White has not played, and the shows will be unannounced until the day of each performance. Joining White on his jaunt across these locations will be the musicians making up his acoustic quartet, including Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davis.
