'Open-String Fingerstyle Method for Guitar' Distributed by Alfred

July 18, 2012
imgAlfred Music Publishing, the world leader in educational print music publishing since 1922, distributes Open-String Fingerstyle Method for Guitar, a revolutionary open-string method created by six-time Grammy award-winner guitarist Daniel Ho, in collaboration with the Grammy Museum.

Open-String Fingerstyle Method for Guitar is a user-friendly beginning guitar approach that distinguishes open strings as the core principle of fingerstyle playing. The lessons and examples use special open-string voicings that are easy to play and sound beautiful. The examples start out with chords in the a few of the most common guitar keys using only two fingers in the left hand, then progress to chords in every key using no more than three fingers in the left hand. Lessons also cover modified voicings of the six classic chords in each of the five most common guitar keys, and transpositions to other keys using a capo. The method includes reference material on how to properly hold the guitar, both right- and left-hand technique, stroke patterns, reading music and TAB, and chord graphs.
Daniel Ho has worked as a musician, producer, singer/songwriter, arranger, composer, engineer, and record company owner and has shared his music as a soloist throughout the U.S., Japan, Europe, and even Tasmania. Perhaps the most compelling of these roles has been as a multi-Grammy award-winning producer, featured slack key guitarist, and artist in the “Best Hawaiian Music Album” category. Daniel has also guest-lectured at Stanford University, and is a Yamaha guitar artist and plays KoAloha ukuleles.

Open-String Fingerstyle Method for Guitar (98-DHC80075) Book & CD set is now available for $15.95 at music retail stores and at alfred.com/guitar.
