I am so sorry to say that my friend and great singer from the Knack Doug Fieger on Feb 14th lost his extremely valiant battle with a very aggressive cancer. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and fans. I feel lucky to been able to know Doug as a friend, and it's hard to imagine many people who have not smiled when hearing the opening riff of "My Sharona", and the vocal performance will assure that Doug's spirit will be felt by generations of rockers to come. —John Jorgenson

Doug was a master pop composer. The whole first Knack album was great. The song Rocket of Love is great as well.. RIP Doug.

The first time I heard the Knack song (Good Girls Don't) & My Sharona, I went out and bought my first guitar. Thanks Doug RIP.

My Sharona was one of the best post punk - new wave songs written. The solos in that song inspired millions. I played that song to my 17-year old son and now he too has learnt it.
RIP Doug, you'll be greatly missed, but I suppose jamming with David up there will keep you on your toes...

It was a sad day when I heard of Doug's passing. What a great songwriter, singer and showman. His legacy will live on. If you have never seen the Knack then a good way to do so is to get their DVD. There are songs from most of their albums and a great medley of "Tequila" which morhs into "Break on Through" by the Doors. Doug will live on in the hearts of his fans both old and those will discover his music in the future!

One thing people didn't really get about the Knack was how really good the musicianship on that first album really was. Sorry to hear Doug left this earth too soon.

The first Knack album will always be in my top 5 best power pop albums. Breat writing great guitar playing and tones. Very saddened by his passing. Newbie songwriters should take some lessons. He was a master of songcraft.

It's a terrible loss. How many songs over the ages are instantly recognizeable by the first notes! Thinking of that,we should also all be aware we lost Dale Hawkins this week. "My Sharona" and "Susie Q.",music history indeed. We are losing the "Giants". Bugs

Terribly sad news about Doug Fieger. I had the pleasure of meeting him at Black Market Music in LA about 7-8 years ago. It was a real thrill. My Sharona and the first Knack album was a big part of my high school soundtrack. RIP Doug.

It's a real shame. Doug was a true guitar junkie and had a fabulous collection that he PLAYED and ENJOYED and if your party is ever dragging, put on 'My Sharona' and watch everyone just go off!

Saw The Knack live in the late 80's at Madame Wong's, a great live band. Power pop at it's best. Bruce Gary (who passed away a few years) was just great rock drummer. Hopefully people will go and listen to their whole catalog. Doug wrote other great tunes. RIP

It's perfect that we are able to take the home loans and this opens up completely new possibilities.
