Thirty-three years ago, I played bass in a Gainesville, Florida
southern-rock band. We were playing at a roadhouse
that featured an occasionally dangerous clientele, and,
between sets, I found myself talking to a young man who
told me about his urge to strangle people. Attempting to
be sympathetic, I said, “Well, I suppose we all have issues
in life we need to overcome.” During the next set, to my
horror, this same guy appeared in front of the stage and
began to throttle the man dancing next to him. Our guitarist—
a former Gators football player—gracefully whipped
off his Les Paul, leapt from the stage, lifted this deranged
fellow into the air, and held him down on the bar until
security arrived. I’m now an Episcopal priest, and I view
this conversation as my very first—albeit unsuccessful—
pastoral counseling session. —REV. LUPTON ABSHIRE

awesome tale...
so what do you do with people who tell you tales that display borderline strangeness"?
As a former hotel doorman of some years i have needed to escort, calmly,! out the dooor, knife weilding cranked up to overload would be rambo's........and that was only wednesday night! towards the weekend the place got really circus-like!
And i made mistakes in beleiving in the basic nicety of the human
zooman. Humans are the only animal that kill and hurt just for kicks................all other animals kill out of necessity.
So that folks is my fundamental point!...you give them an inch they take a mile...and some may be wound up to the max with a taste from the vial!
be careful and enjoy social events, festivals and so on.just bear in mind that some folks kill and maim for kicks!
i am sure that you have seen the tv or papers about the current horror in norway, an evil piece of work shot down and killed 75 people who were on a social democrat youth camp. At one stage he even wore a police uniform and told distraught youth to follow him to a safe place, he then picked them off at leisure with a snipers rifle......just one small piece of the horror.
thank the gods that i am a guitar player and can immerse myself in creating....in stark contrast to tearing down the happiness of enough people to affect an entire small township.!
